So busy you don't have time to stop and make some plans?
Taking time out to plan your campaign properly is absolutely vital. We'll discuss how to set aims and realistic objectives, make sure you are targeting the right audience in the right way, using your limited resources to their maximum effect, monitoring your successes - and failures - so you can adapt as you go along, and evaluating everything at the end, so you can learn to do even better next time round.

Making the most of the media

Essential skills for maximising your campaign impact through the media. The workshop will cover building local media contacts, communicating key messages, writing press releases and following them up to ensure your news hits the headlines.

Getting the message across: How to talk the talk

This workshop will look at ways of getting the message across by discussing tried and tested techniques, sharing top tips and looking at how to deal with difficult situations.

Workshop Session 3

Enjoyable and Effective meetings

Do your meetings go round and round in circles? Do some people do more than their fair share of talking? Come to our interactive session to develop your skills and confidence in facilitating your campaign group meetings. We will focus on tools for effective meetings including exploring the role of the facilitator, active listening skills and sharing ideas for how to tackle common meeting challenges.

Making the most of the media: next steps

This workshop is for people who have already had a go at some local media work and would like to learn more. It will focus on how to interest the media in features, doing media interviews and creating photo opportunities.

Changing the world is a marathon, not a sprint, and we need to pace ourselves. To be effective, we need to be well-rested and well cared-for. Activists often experience burnout and exhaustion, and this workshop will discuss how we can recognise the symptoms of burnout and exhaustion in ourselves and others and take positive steps to avoid activist burnout.

Mapping your community

Tapping into resources in your community makes the world of difference to your campaigns. This session will help you to identify and deploy your community's resources most effectively to achieve success.

Show me the money!

In this workshop we'll look at some ways in which you can make some money alongside your tireless efforts at changing the world. Focusing on events, participants will explore how fundraising and campaigning activities can complement one another and learn how to plan a successful event.
